Welcome to the online home of East Chinnock Under Fives Pre-school....

East Chinnock is a friendly, happy preschool situated in the picturesque village of East Chinnock, close to Yeovil.  Based on the playing fields and surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside, children learn in an inspiring outdoor environment supported by caring and highly qualified staff.

Children are eligible to attend from their 2nd birthday.  You can also join us with your baby or under 2s for our integrated Toddler session  on Thursday mornings.  Giving you an opportunity to meet staff and familiarise yourself with the setting before your child starts.

Parents as Partners

Our setting recognises parents as the first and most important educator of their children. Parents are regarded as members of our setting and have full participatory rights. These include being valued and respected, being kept informed and consulted, involved and included at all levels. As a community-led, voluntary-managed setting we also depend on the goodwill of parents and their involvement to keep going. Parents are very welcome to help at sessions on a rota basis; regular help may require CRB checks. However during your child's first weeks this can prove to be unsettling and may best be left for a while.

As part of the Group's policy to ensure its provision meets the needs of each individual child, we take account of any
special/additional needs a child may have and work to the requirements of the 1993 Education Act and the
Special Education Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice (2014).

We are registered with Ofsted to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage for Learning and Development through play.
